Renovation of the Emeria Thalasso & Spa hotel in Dinard
01 THE OPPORTUNITY
Having chosen Cushman & Wakefield Design + Build to renovate all 103 rooms in its 4-star hotel in 2023, the Rennes-based FOR-BZH group has once again placed its trust in the teams to renovate and embellish the Spa and public areas of this hotel, whose ambition is to offer guests a high-tech treatment experience
in a refined and welcoming environment.
The major challenge of this new project, covering some 5,000 m², was the very tight deadline imposed by the client. Whereas the rooms had been renovated in 4 months, the Design + Build team had just 5 months to breathe new life into the Spa and communal areas, with the aim of being able to welcome guests back as early as the spring holidays in 2024.
For the renovation of what is the largest private Spa in France, Cushman & Wakefield Design + Build was responsible for all the architectural trades.
02 The Solution
The great strength of Cushman & Wakefield Design + Build lies in two words: agility and flexibility; two essential characteristics without which the deadline imposed by the client and the high level of service quality expected at this level of the hotel industry could not have been met.
Mindful of ESG issues and the need to meet deadlines, Design + Build relied on a network of local and national companies, starting with its Nantes office, and implemented scrupulous management of waste from the site, with monitoring, recycling and selective sorting that exceeded current standards.
The very nature of the renovation and the proximity of the ocean meant that the teams had to work with materials adapted to heated, chlorinated seawater.
In all, more than 50 experienced employees and site workers from a variety of trades contributed to the success of this major project:
- 2 full-time project managers
- 1 team of architects providing back-up for plans and details
- 6 full-time in-house joiners
03 THE RESULTS
This one-off operation was a real success. Deadlines were met, while maintaining the exceptional quality of the work.
The reopening of the Dinard's establishment to the general public on 12 April 2024, as planned, was widely reported in the press and on social networks, so much so that the quality of the final result was appreciated and recognised by all.
This magnificent project bears witness to Cushman & Wakefield Design + Build's extensive expertise in the hotel and spa sector.
