University of Auckland, New Zealand: Operating A 24/7 Environments and Facilities
01 THE CHALLENGE
The University of Auckland's environments and facilities require 24/7 service delivery.
The maintenance plant has 11kV generators, large central plant chillers, pumps and dosing systems, fume cupboards, and lighting control systems that support eight buildings across the campus and more than 10,000 assets. Cushman & Wakefield manage these assets across the whole campus, each with their own access requirements and processes.
To manage the assets better, our team proposed revisions on the operating model and site-based team structure to the University of Auckland.
02 THE SOLUTION
Cushman & Wakefield placed a dedicated, site-based handyman assisted by a specialised trades team. They manage daily preventive and reactive maintenance and on-site client relationships.
Our services to the University include:
- Air conditioning
- General electrical
- General mechanical
- Plumbing, gas, and drainage
- Building and carpentry
- Coordination and site management of nominated University subcontractors
Apart from deploying highly skilled and experienced technicians for round-the-clock maintenance, we also assigned a dedicated helpdesk and administration team to support our on-site team.
03 THE RESULT
The University of Auckland was satisfied with our performance and the flexibility of our self-delivery trade services.
The University awarded Cushman & Wakefield renewal of the Grafton Campus contract at the end of term one. Additionally, Cushman & Wakefield got the contract for building services maintenance of the University's 25 multi-story accommodations.
