Cushman & Wakefield announces the appointment of Manuel Magalhães, who joins the company as Head of Development & Living, a strategic area identified for 2025. With approximately 15 years of experience in the construction and real estate sector, the new head prioritises supporting developers and investors in the purchase and sale of land for construction and buildings for rehabilitation, as well as properties for residential use in its most universal sense, including housing, student residences, or senior residences.
Between 2018 and 2022, Manuel Magalhães had already collaborated with C&W as a senior consultant in the Development & Living area. His CV also includes various roles in companies such as Teixeira Duarte, Avenue, Burger King, and Vizta. He holds a degree and a master's in Civil Engineering from the University of Coimbra and a postgraduate degree in Real Estate Management and Evaluation from the Higher Institute of Economics and Management (ISEG), accredited by RICS.
“I am very excited to return to C&W to lead the Development & Living area and support our clients in making the best investment decisions, leveraging C&W's vast know-how. The real estate development market is very active, and 2025 looks to be a year full of opportunities,” says Manuel Magalhães.
“With the market in this segment growing, we want to provide the best response to the different needs of our clients. Thus, Manuel Magalhães's entry strengthens C&W's positioning and our focus on the Development & Living area. The year 2025 will continue to be marked by reduced public investment, highlighting the need for greater private supply, which we must be attentive to. The segments of student residences and residential structures for the elderly have gained relevance in recent years and are essential for the growth of the alternative residential real estate market,” highlights David Lopes, Partner and Head of Capital Markets at Cushman & Wakefield.
The Development & Living area is integrated within the Investment/Capital Markets department of Cushman & Wakefield Portugal, being one of the main areas of specialisation for the consultancy.
