Improved Procurement, MRO Warehouse Processes Maximize Production Uptime
01 The Opportunity
As one of the world’s largest pharmaceutical companies, Boehringer Ingelheim is dedicated to improving the health and quality of life of people around the globe. To help them achieve that goal, Cushman & Wakefield implemented a new procurement method for facilities services at four U.S. campuses.
02 The Solution
The new procurement process allows for quick turnaround times and helps secure the correct pricing, quality, and delivery for maintenance of the campuses. Our team also oversaw a reorganization of the maintenance, repairs and operations (MRO) warehouse to a good manufacturing process (GMP) compliant standard. We now maintain proper spare part inventory levels in the MRO warehouse to ensure that there are no delays or interruptions to production.
03 The Results
- Achieved about $400,000 in cost savings by revamping a key program.
- Provided 24/7 equipment, facilities services, and security support during a major improvement project.
- Reduced purchase order spend while maintaining a continuous flow of materials to client sites without interruptions to production schedules.
