After carrying out an analysis and understanding the possibilities available to explore in space, the goals of obtaining the LEED v4 ID+C Commercial Interior Space Gold level, and 2 stars in FITWEL, were outlined with the client.
After the implementation of various sustainability and health and well-being promotion strategies, the goals set were achieved, some of them with 100% score. There were 5,464 m² of certified private area, with 316 workstations.

After defining which interventions would be made to improve the efficiency of the office, items covering the prerequisites and credits chosen when setting the goal were implemented. A total of 67 points were achieved, reaching the desired Gold level of LEED certification.
Several results were obtained after the practices implemented, among them the diversion of 99.28% of landfill waste during construction, as explained by Marina Andrade, Project Manager at Cushman & Wakefield: ''we managed to recycle all this in the period of work in a joint work with the construction company. It’s a very positive result,’’ he says.
FITWEL certification
The categories for FITWEL certification cover points that range from encouraging physical activity to improving access to healthy foods. See below the measures adopted at the LinkedIn Sao Paulo office, which totaled 114 points, resulting in the achievement of two stars in the evaluation.
For Marina, customer support was essential for achieving both LEED and FITWEL certification: “During the certification processes, LinkedIn has always been very concerned about implementing practices that go beyond certification requirements. The company is truly committed to the preservation of the environment and the health of its employees,'' he says.
She also highlights the importance of having a local LinkedIn point of contact, such as Rodrigo Marcos, Workplace Manager, who provided support throughout the process for obtaining certifications.
