Cynthia Franco, Corporate Sustainability Consultant, says that social investment through incentivized funds began with the partnership with Simbi, which provided support and access to a platform that brings together public data on social projects and tax incentive laws in one place. throughout Brazil: ''With the support of Simbi, we were able to make possible the project by UNAS - União de Núcleos, Residents' Associations of Heliópolis and Region, which aimed to create a space for the dissemination of reading for the community within the Heliópolis Community Library , neighborhood in the South Zone of São Paulo''.
So that we could apply the resources encouraged via PROMAC (Municipal Culture Support Program) - an incentive tool recently launched at the time -, Simbi bridged the gap between the two agents of social transformation, in addition to assisting us throughout the audit process, input and monitoring of project implementation.
To everyone's happiness, the partnership was successful, transforming Cushman & Wakefield into the first company in history to make an investment based on PROMAC, and UNAS, the first non-profit entity to receive resources via this tool.
One such inspiring example of how a successful partnership can generate positive impact for both the company and society is the partnership between Cushman & Wakefield and UNAS.
‘‘Generating a positive impact through municipal taxes, such as the ISS, is extremely rewarding as we are able to direct our resources to positively transform the community where we operate’’ – Cynthia Franco.
Construction of the Heliópolis community library
The process of building the Heliópolis community library made it possible to strengthen the relationship between company and project: one began to participate in the other's daily life, vice versa.
As a result, Cushman & Wakefield's corporate volunteering actions were linked to UNAS activities: employees helped paint the walls of the space and were able to attend other actions, such as the library opening soiree and the ballet for children attended by the institution.
Due to the intense and beneficial exchanges between both agents, other donations and subsequent actions took place and the partnership continues today.
As proof that Cushman & Wakefield was on the right path to positive impact, the social investment earned the company the Citizenship award, offered by the City of São Paulo.
‘‘For us, this is a clear example of the power of collaboration and social engagement, which can generate transformative results for society. We are very proud to have participated in this process and to help Cushman & Wakefield and UNAS meet to enhance their positive impact capabilities. We hope that this partnership can inspire other companies to seek new ways to invest in social issues and contribute to a fairer and more sustainable world’’ – Simbi.
