Today we bring a practical example of how this has impacted lives.
The Cultural Workshops of Associação Nosso Olhar, one of the projects encouraged by Cushman & Wakefield via ProMac, have exceeded expectations and reached their daily service capacity. This means that the activities have aroused the interest of young people served by the institution - which welcomes, includes and informs society about Down syndrome and other disabilities.
In just five months, the Promac Oficinas Culturais project has already impacted more than 570 children and is about to reach its maximum capacity, with 85% of places filled.
Activities include: cultural crafts workshop; cultural theater workshop; musicalization cultural workshop and kites and stingrays cultural workshop.
Carmen Carotini, Account Executive at Nosso Olhar, says that some activities have a waiting list, such is the success of the project: “Our capacity is six hundred services per month and we already have more than five hundred, reaching almost maximum capacity'' , account.
She reports that experiencing the workshops, seeing young people interacting, expressing sensations and emotions, singing, dancing, is a very rich experience: “Seeing their growth and evolution in relation mainly to socialization is something inexplicable. Mobility, fine coordination, this whole part of development is incredible. They arrive shy, with fear, and seeing how a safe space creates the feeling of being at home is very pleasurable. Taking care of them and being able to help families with our social assistance makes a difference. We look for companies that have this respectful view to be our partners”, he says.
Cynthia Franco, Corporate Sustainability Consultant at Cushman & Wakefield, talks about the importance of partnership: “encouragement in social projects like Nosso Olhar plays a crucial role in promoting inclusion and ensuring resources for the full development of these children” it says.
