Cushman & Wakefield Closes Major Logistics Acquisition in Japan

25/10/2018

This acquisition is one of Japan’s largest industrial deals by portfolio size for 2018

TOKYO, October 25, 2018 – Cushman & Wakefield, a leading global real estate services firm, today announced that Cushman & Wakefield provided buyside representation services on the acquisition of a large logistics facility in Osaka, Japan on August 28, 2018. This acquisition represents one of Japan’s largest industrial deals by portfolio size for 2018. Following this acquisition, Cushman & Wakefield Asset Management K.K. is appointed as Asset Manager for the facility.

The logistics asset acquired is LF Sakai in Osaka. It is a state-of-the-art facility with an area of 1.16 million square feet spread over four floors. The facility also has a double ramp way and centered passage way, which are highly suitable for multi-tenancy operations.

Yoshiyuki Tanaka, Senior Executive Director, Capital Markets, Cushman & Wakefield Japan said, “The successful representation for acquisition of this impressive logistics facility, and to be awarded the mandate as asset manager, is an important milestone for our business in Japan. This acquisition further strengthens our asset management portfolio and logistics and industrial services business in Japan. It also reaffirms our position as a leading Capital Markets firm globally, consisting of 950+ Capital Markets professionals transacting US$191 billion globally in 2017.”

This acquisition together with other subsequent industrial asset management appointments in Sakado and Kuki both in Saitama Prefecture completed in August 2018, further diversifies Cushman & Wakefield Japan’s portfolio under management, which includes office, residential and retail assets. With the provision of tenant leasing services from the company’s Logistics and Industrial team, the company now offers a fully-integrated service delivery platform in the industrial sector.
