Cushman & Wakefield, a leading global real estate services firm announced the appointment of Mari Kumagai as Head of Research & Consulting in Japan, effective today. As Service Line leader, she will be responsible for analysis of the Japanese real estate market, providing valuable insights to support the business and clients, as well as the strengthening of the firm’s research capabilities.
Ms. Kumagai has over 20 years of experience in research covering real estate / financial service sector as equity / fixed income / real estate investment analyst. After having worked as sell-side / buy-side analyst at UBS, Citigroup and PIMCO, she has then launched research services at Colliers International in Japan, playing key roles in building and expanding the client platform. Prior to joining Cushman & Wakefield, she was Vice President of Research & Strategy at LaSalle Investment Management in Japan, where she was responsible for formulating investment research and strategy tools, providing sector forecast and risk assessment for various investment mandates for managing Japan real estate investment funds. Ms. Kumagai holds a Bachelor of Law degree from Keio University, a Master of Business Administration (MBA) from UCLA Anderson School of Management and is a U.S. Certified Public Accountant from the State of Washington.
Dr. Hideaki Suzuki, who has been leading the Research & Consulting team since 2017, will continue to oversee research and marketing services as Head of Business Development Services for Japan.
