Ronald McDonald
Upgrading two rooms in the Ronald McDonald children's hospital.
1 The Question
The Ronald McDonald House Emma offers parents a temporary home to stay in when their child is in hospital. Sometimes families stay in the House for weeks or even months at a time. The current rooms are a bit dated and deserve an upgrade. That is why we have taken the initiative to approach Ronald McDonald House Emma and make a plan together. By combining the valuable knowledge of the Ronald McDonald team about the needs and wishes of guests and the enthusiastic team within PDS, we have come to an optimal design. Together with the network that we have of suppliers, we have designed and realized a new interior for 2 bedrooms completely selflessly, which offers the guests of Huis Emma a home away from home.
2 The Approach
Together with the Ronald McDonald Huis Emma team, we sat down to brainstorm about the requirements that the rooms must meet. In addition to being a pleasant, homely place, it is also important that parents can work here if necessary. That is why a niche has been created in one of the rooms, behind which is a folding desk, but where an extra bed can also be placed.
After the design was completed, we approached our network of suppliers and subcontractors to find out who wanted to contribute to this special project with us free of charge. There appeared to be a great willingness to help and we were able to get this great job done with a fantastic team, without having to compromise on quality or result.
3 The Result
The rooms will be occupied from mid-May 2021. The first reactions we have received are very positive. The rooms are experienced as a valuable contribution in a difficult time. We are pleased that we were able to help Huis Emma with these two rooms and that this inspires other parties to follow this example. Nice to see that together we have managed to achieve something so beautiful. Many thanks to our partners who contributed to this.
