Cushman & Wakefield is committed to building a diverse and engaged workforce and supporting an inclusive environment where our colleagues can do their best work. We believe that embracing new perspectives helps us solve problems, create opportunities and develop new ideas. Bringing together all our colleagues from across the globe of different cultures, backgrounds and experiences within Cushman & Wakefield is an important part of our identity.

OUR DEI APPROACH

Vision

Our diversity, equity & inclusion (DEI) vision is to have the most diverse, equitable and inclusive commercial real estate company that continuously delivers impactful results for our colleagues, clients, partners and shareholders.

Mission

Our mission is to evolve our culture of inclusion and belonging through a nurturing environment of curiosity, continuous learning and growth. We strive to hire, develop and advance diverse talent throughout the organization. We believe that having a diverse and thriving workforce enables new perspectives, creativity, better risk management, and problem solving leading to superior results for our colleagues, client, partners and shareholders.

Global Approach & Strategic Priorities

At Cushman & Wakefield, we know it takes intentional commitment and accountability to achieve progress. We are focused on creating long-term sustainable change through a DEI strategy that addresses the systems, policies and key decision points that influence company culture. Our holistic global DEI strategy focuses on making a positive impact for our workforce, workplace and the marketplace.

WORKFORCE

Develop, nurture and empower our colleagues to do their best work, and recruit and retain historically underrepresented talent.

WORKPLACE

Develop a culture of equity, inclusion and belonging through increased leadership accountability, transparency and cross-cultural education.

MARKETPLACE

Optimize the value we bring to clients through DEI with a robust supplier diversity offering, increased partnerships with women owned and historically underrepresented minority owned businesses and better support for DEI inclusion in client pursuits.

Regional Focus

As a global company, we know that DEI means something different depending on where you are in the world. To ensure we are establishing the right priorities to address the biggest opportunities, we maintain regional DEI councils that operate in the Americas, EMEA and APAC. Each Council is chaired by the regional CEO and made up of senior leaders who represent a broad range of diversity, various lines of businesses and geographic locations in the region. We are excited about the collective impact we can make as we further our culture as where all belong and thrive. Together, we make it inclusive.

Strategic External Partnerships

An important component of Cushman & Wakefield’s global DEI strategy is leveraging industry partnerships to deepen our ability to address needs across multiple dimensions of diversity including, gender, race/ethnicity, LGBTQ+, disability, veterans and social mobility.

Our DEI external partners are reputable, best-in-class organizations with DEI subject matter expertise and align to colleague engagement and development, candidate sourcing and recruitment, client engagement, thought leadership and branding and visibility. Cushman & Wakefield currently maintains 15 strategic DEI relationships to further our impact.

Celebrating International Day of People with Disability

At Cushman & Wakefield, we are committed to building a diverse and engaged workforce and supporting an inclusive culture where our colleagues can do their best work. As a global leader in the commercial real estate services industry, we shape diverse communities and create inclusive built environments for our clients. That is why we are particularly proud to celebrate International Day of People with Disability (IDPwD).

IDPwD’s purpose is to promote an understanding of disability issues and mobilize support for the dignity, rights and well-being of persons with disabilities. More personally, it is a day when each of us can pause and reflect on the individual and collective roles we can play in identifying and addressing discrimination, marginalization, exclusion and inaccessibility that many people with disabilities face.

Our Leading with Education and Awareness of Disabilities (LEAD) Employee Resource Group (ERG) is one way we bring our inclusive culture to life. LEAD’s mission is to cultivate a work environment that erases the barriers holding back people affected by disabilities. We are proud to showcase the impact our teams make in disability inclusion Asia Pacific, Europe and the Americas.

Cushman & Wakefield Celebrates International Women’s Day

Cushman & Wakefield and C&W Services are committed to accelerating gender parity within our businesses and the commercial real estate industry. We recognize this as an area where we have a significant impact given the size of our workforce, with approximately 52,000 employees in nearly 400 offices around the world.

On International Women’s Day (IWD), we celebrate the social, economic, cultural and political achievements of women around the world. This year's IWD theme, #InspireInclusion, embodies our dedication to fostering an environment where every individual, regardless of gender, feels valued, respected and included. We thank our outstanding women colleagues for their contributions to our firm, the service they provide to our clients and the impact they make in our communities every day.

We're excited to launch our IWD e-book featuring more than 30 incredible women from Cushman & Wakefield's Women’s Integrated Network (WIN) Employee Resource Group (ERG) answering questions from what inspires them to what advice they'd give their younger self and more. The e-book illustrates some of the many ways our colleagues are inspiring inclusion around the globe.

We value all aspects of our global diversity and appreciate global colleagues. Our colleagues around the world share a relentless commitment to both ideas and action, from delivering exceptional client service to making an impact in our communities. As we continue our DEI journey, we are committed to:

  • Fostering an inclusive and equitable environment where all our colleagues can do their best work, contribute to the success of the business and thrive.
  • Ensuring that the diversity of our organization reflects the world in which we live, with a particular focus on increasing diversity at the leadership levels.
  • Attracting, retaining, developing and advancing a diverse mix of talent at all levels of the organization.
  • Equipping colleagues with experiences, education and resources that inspire curiosity and build confidence while supporting their learning and development.

Employee Resource Groups

Our nine Employee Resource Groups (ERGs) are an important part of our infrastructure at Cushman & Wakefield. With 4,000+ members around the world, our ERGs are company-funded, employee-led teams of volunteers with a common identity along with allies that support their mission.

The ERGs contribute to advancing the DEI strategy and to the success of the business by helping to raise DEI awareness, foster employee engagement and inclusion, build community and a sense of belonging. Each year, our ERGs host events around commercial impact, community involvement, education and development, recruitment and workplace culture and celebrate DEI observances.
