Cushman & Wakefield further expands its investment division in Germany

Verena Bauer • 15/12/2021

International real estate consultancy firm Cushman & Wakefield (C&W) is paving the way for future growth and strengthening its investment division in Germany. Markus Elmer (31) will take on the newly-created position of Head of Business Development Capital Markets Germany at the beginning of 2022 and will build up a team in this area. Niklas Hensiek (32) will move to the International Capital Markets Team.

Markus Elmer was previously responsible for Residential Advisory at C&W. In his new position, he reports directly to Alexander Kropf, Head of Capital Markets Germany. As part of the restructuring, Markus also takes over the management of the 7-person team focusing on supporting transactions  especially large-volume mandates  across all asset classes nationwide. In addition, the division is developing the digital infrastructure of Capital Markets Germany further and implementing innovations.

This team has until now been led by Niklas Hensiek, who is moving to the International Capital Markets team at Cushman & Wakefield as the contact person for German investors who wish to invest abroad and to advise international investors interested in the German real estate market. He reports to Paul Boursican, Head of EMEA Capital Markets Business Space.

Alexander Kropf, Head of Capital Markets Germany, commented: "Following the expansion of the investment team in the logistics and industrial sectors, this is another significant step in leveraging synergies between the individual investment advisory services and to gain new market share. The goal is to serve our clients even more precisely and efficiently with improved technical solutions and optimised processes. In Markus Elmer, we are filling the position with an experienced investment expert from our own ranks, who will decisively advance the team. We also wish Niklas Hensiek every success in his new role.”
