COLOCATION DATA CENTRE ADVISORY: Confidential Global Computer Security Software Company
01 The Opportunity
Cushman & Wakefield was appointed in 2022 to support a global computer security software company relocating out of their office premises in Bangalore as a part of a cost-saving exercise and audit of their real estate portfolio. The client also had a large portfolio of racks on-premise in addition to their employee seating area.
02 The Solution
Following a workplace study of their office, Cushman & Wakefield suggested two scenarios; one where they would move the complete office to another location and a second where they would separate their IT set-up from their real estate portfolio and migrate their on-premise servers to an external colocation data centre.
Cushman & Wakefield conducted a thorough evaluation of the market and multiple site inspections with the client. After evaluating the options and a comparison of the cash flow analysis shared by our team of both scenarios, the client decided to move their IT portfolio to a colocation provider based on the cost-savings, security features, and sustainability goals that would be achieved with this option.
