NEW YORK – Out Leadership, the oldest and largest coalition of global companies working to improve LGBTQ+ equality in the world, has welcomed Cushman & Wakefield as its newest member firm. Cushman & Wakefield, one of the world’s largest real estate services firms, joins an illustrious and influential group of 95 member companies that span industries such as global banking, investment management, private equity, alternative investments, legal, consumer goods, business advisory, media, manufacturing and more.
Todd Sears, CEO & Founder, Out Leadership, said: “Cushman & Wakefield continues to demonstrate its commitment to LGBTQ+ employees globally, as witnessed by receiving the highest score in the Human Rights Campaign’s Corporate Equality Index for the fourth consecutive year. Their diversity and inclusion initiatives make them an excellent fit for our community of global firms working toward equality for LGBTQ+ people.”
“We’re thrilled to be connected to Out Leadership’s network of member companies that are collaborating to make their workplaces more inclusive and equitable for LGBTQ+ employees,” said Nadine Augusta, Cushman & Wakefield’s Chief Diversity, Equity & Inclusion Officer. “Exchanging insights with companies across sectors and geographies will help inform and enhance our own global diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI) strategy.”
Cushman & Wakefield’s UNITY employee resource group for LGBTQ+ employees contributes to advancing the firm’s DEI strategy and to the success of the business by helping to raise DEI awareness, foster employee engagement and inclusion, and build community and a sense of belonging.
In partnership with Cushman & Wakefield’s leadership team, UNITY has spearheaded several initiatives including:
- Offering transgender-inclusive health care coverage
- Updating the firm’s global email signature guidelines to include optional use of preferred gender pronouns
- Applying self-identification options for LGBTQ+ employees
- Requiring vendors to follow the firm’s anti-LGBTQ+ discrimination guidelines
- Providing tools and resources to HR in order to actively recruit members of the LGBTQ+ community in roles throughout the Americas
“Cushman & Wakefield’s belief that diversity is good business is closely aligned with ours. We are delighted and honored they have joined our growing coalition of members working to advance global LGBTQ+ equality,” said Sears.
