Huawei Technologies Philippines – Lease Search For The Right Office Space
01 THE CHALLENGE
Huawei Technologies Philippines had multiple leases in buildings all over Taguig City for their various departments.
Since most of the leases were expiring in 2018, they decided to use this opportunity to consolidate their offices.
We were retained to help with this consolidation; the client had four buildings, each with different landlords and lease expirations.
Along with new leases, Huawei added in some special requests, commonly found in other headquarters but new to the Philippines market.
One such request was a full kitchen that utilised gas cooking on the office floor.
Our team was also required to find a suitable location near Globe Telecom – a key client.

02 THE SOLUTION
We helped prepare several internal reports so the client could get all the necessary approvals for this large-scale project.
Our team studied the timeline, and designed a strategy to align all the existing leases. This included negotiating for an extended handover date.
We provided Huawei with an exhaustive list of building options that met their size and location needs, as well as the special requests.
We brought lessors of shortlisted locations onboard with the idea of a full gas kitchen and cafeteria.

03 THE RESULT
We leveraged our relationships with the landlords to provide the client with a rent-free period of five months, compared to the market standard of two to three months.
Our team also secured early access to Huawei’s floors within the buildings.
As a result, the team finalised everything within a year, with all special requests from Huawei HQ accommodated.
