Veteran Toronto-based CRE Executive is First Woman to Hold National Brokerage Leadership Role in Canada

TORONTO, September 27, 2023 – Cushman & Wakefield announced today that the firm promoted Allison Marsales to President of Advisory, Canada, effective October 1. Additionally, after many years of leadership at Cushman & Wakefield, Chuck Scott (CEO, Canada) has announced his intent to depart the firm at the end of 2023 to pursue other interests.

Marsales will lead and drive strategy for Cushman & Wakefield’s Advisory services, which includes more than 500 professionals involved in delivering Brokerage services across all asset classes and sectors throughout Canada.  She will report to Victoria Malkin, Cushman & Wakefield Regional President, Central.

“We have a real opportunity to grow our advisory business and provide holistic solutions for investor and occupier clients across Canada,” Marsales said. “What’s more, we have the people and platform in place to meet current headwinds and provide industry-leading expertise, positioning clients to thrive now and in the future.”

Added Malkin, “With more than 20 years of brokerage, landlord and leadership experience, Allison is the ideal person to lead our Canada Advisory business and the first woman to lead brokerage nationally in Canada. She has an extensive understanding of the commercial real estate and broader business-community landscape as well as our own operations and priorities. I look forward to continuing to partner closely with Allison on our Canada Advisory business to drive a strategy that best serves our people, clients and communities.

“I’d like to thank Chuck for his 15 years of leadership,” Malkin continued. “He has made a lasting impact on Cushman & Wakefield and the industry in Canada and beyond. We could not be more grateful for Chuck’s contribution to our growth over the years and wish him nothing but success in the next chapter of his journey.”

Marsales has served as Cushman & Wakefield’s Toronto Central Managing Principal since joining the firm in 2018. As Managing Principal, she developed and executed the strategic growth plan for Cushman & Wakefield’s Toronto Central business and was responsible for broker advancement and development, talent recruitment, bolstering sales support capabilities and nurturing client relationships. Marsales attended Dalhousie University and earned CoreNet Global’s Master of Corporate Real Estate designation.

Marsales’ promotion marks the second recent, major leadership announcement for Cushman & Wakefield in Canada. In July, Cushman & Wakefield promoted Andrea McGowen and added Maria Soklis as Executive Managing Directors to co-lead the firm’s Canada Asset Service group, which includes property management and project and development services (PDS).
