Cushman & Wakefield announced the hiring of two professionals to reinforce the team based in Porto. Mário Jacob and Tiago Marques Galvão are part of the Business Space (offices and industrial/logistics) and Capital Markets teams, respectively.
With these new hires, the firm continues to strengthen its activity in the Greater Porto market, where it has registered significant growth since it established itself in this city with its own office in 2016.
With 15 years of experience in corporate real estate, Mário Jacob is an expert in the office and industrial market. Before joining the Cushman & Wakefield team as Head of Business Space in the Porto office, he was Head of the Abacus Savills office also in the same city, where he successfully led several operations. He also spent time in Angola where he led the commercial team at Mota Engil Real Estate and later at Abacus Angola. On his return to Portugal he founded UPRE, a company specialized in logistics and industrial assets, where he accompanied companies such as Umicore, Mota Engil, Rangel, Logic and Transnautica.
Tiago Marques Galvão returns to Cushman & Wakefield, joining the Capital Markets team, where he started his activity in 2015 in the Industrial & Logistics department. At the time, he was involved in several important processes, including Medway's Road and Rail Logistics Terminal in Vila Nova de Famalicão, and supported companies such as Renault, Continental, TNT, among others. In 2018, he took on the role of Head of the Porto office of Resolute Asset Management, and later was commercial director of the residential project “Antas Atrium” by Albatross/Quantico.
According to Eric van Leuven, managing director of Cushman & Wakefield, “Porto has been of increasing importance in the real estate scene in Portugal, with great interest from occupants and investors in this city. We believe that, with the new members of the team, we are well positioned to be an increasingly leading player in this market, providing a complete and close service to our clients.”
