A Padaria Portuguesa has just opened its second store in downtown Invicta, the sixth in Greater Porto, on one of the city's most iconic commercial streets – Rua de Sá da Bandeira (No. 170) – occupying an area of 150 sq.m opposite Praça D. João I. Cushman & Wakefield supported this operation on behalf of the property owner, Valor Prime – Open Real Estate Investment Fund, managed by Montepio Gestão de Activos - Sociedade Gestora de Organismos de Investimento Coletivo, S.A.
A Padaria Portuguesa is a chain of bakeries and pastry shops, recognised for its ability to customise products, offering a variety of bakery and pastry items, making it unique in the market. With over 14 years of history, in March, it surpassed the milestone of 80 stores open nationwide. The brand also has two factories and a logistics centre, employing around 1,000 people. With a strong expansion plan for the next three years in Greater Lisbon and Porto, the brand recently announced its goal of reaching 120 stores by 2028, expecting to create an additional 600 new jobs by that date.
There is more beyond Santa Catarina in downtown Porto. In this new operation by Cushman & Wakefield, we reinforce the offer on one of the most iconic commercial streets in the city centre, Rua de Sá da Bandeira, which has been reaffirming itself with the boost from rehabilitation projects, such as the renovated Mercado do Bolhão and Bonjardim, says Susana Pires, Retail Consultant at Cushman & Wakefield, responsible for this operation. The placement of A Padaria Portuguesa on this important commercial artery demonstrates the brands' commitment to presence on other commercial streets in downtown Porto and, simultaneously, the growing dynamism and relevance of the city centre as a vibrant destination that attracts more and more visitors, but also residents. We are particularly pleased to see the affirmation of national brands and concepts in this context of growth and innovation in retail in Portugal, highlights the consultant.
