With completion scheduled for the end of 2022, Fábrica 1921 is a mixed-use development project consisting of residential and retail units. The development is the result of the conversion of the former facilities of Fábrica Simões & Cª into a new project that aims to create a new landmark in the city.
Located in the center of Benfica, Fábrica 1921 is only a few minutes away from the city center, with excellent accessibilities and served by an extensive public transport network.
This My Auchan store is located at 1921 Street Market, the new avenue that will be created as part of the development. The objective is to implement a new retail destination, combining local retailers that already exist on Estrada de Benfica and Avenida Gomes Pereira with new concepts that will start their operations in the development.
This new My Auchan unit is part of the wider brand’s strategy to open proximity stores in large urban areas, helping to reinforce the neighborhood offer and print the character of convenience.
In this deal, Cushman & Wakefield acted on behalf of the owner, Teixeira Duarte. According to Sandra Belo, Associate in the retail department at Cushman & Wakefield, “Follow market trends and understand current consumer needs were key to implement the new 1921 Street Market concept. One of the main goals, was to guarantee that some services and convenience retail met the demand of residents and consumers, and we believe that this My Auchan unit fits the purpose.”
