Lisbon, May 3 2022 – Cushman & Wakefield has announced the reorganization of its Portuguese leadership team, with the promotions of Paulo Sarmento and David Lopes, two senior elements of its Investment team..
Paulo Sarmento, formerly Head of Capital Markets, is now acting as Head of Transactional Services. In this newly created role, he is supervising all the so-called transactional areas of the business (Capital Markets, Office, Retail and Industrial & Logistics Agencies). The goal of this reorganization is to capture synergies between the various Agency departments, and also between those and Capital Markets, through a common leadership and a holistic view of the real estate business.
Following this move, David Lopes (formerly head of Retail & Business Space Investment within Capital Markets) has now become Head of Capital Markets, also supervising Hospitality and Development & Living.
Paulo Sarmento has an MBA from the Nova University of Lisbon and a career spanning 35 years, 26 of which in real estate in different European countries and in Brazil. He joined C&W Portugal in 2018, as Head of Capital Markets.
David Lopes joined the firm’s Industrial & Land department in 2005. He then moved to Valuation & Advisory, and later to Capital Markets. He was now leading the Retail Investment and Business Space Investment teams. David has a Degree in Economics by the Nova University of Lisbon and by the Technical University of Ostrava (Czech Republic). He has a post-graduation in Management and Real Estate Finance and has been a member of RICS (Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors) since 2009.
