30/10/2023
Cushman & Wakefield (C&W) announces that it has leased a new space and provided design + build (D+B) services to a global giant in the logistics sector - Ocean Network Express.
Ocean Network Express is one of the largest maritime transport companies in the world, headquartered in Singapore and providing services in more than 100 countries. The company already has a consolidated presence in Portugal and the former headquarters were located in Maia. With the growth of operations and the team, the company decided to rent a new space, in an emblematic building in the center of Porto, more precisely in the Burgo building.
The building is located on Avenida da Boavista and benefits from excellent access, being home to numerous multinational companies. Ocean Network Express Portugal, will establish its new headquarters on the 10 floor and occupy an area of 700 m2.
In addition to being responsible for the selection and lease of the new space, C&W also provided D+B services, thus an integrated solution, with all the services necessary for the complete execution of the project, from the definition of interiors and specialties, up to the the actual move to the new space. In this specific case, the consultant managed to deliver several spaces, in a phased and tailored manner, to the needs of Ocean Network Express Portugal - a fact only possible by providing this type of “turnkey” service.
According to Francisco Gomes Marques, Architect of the Project Management team at Cushman & Wakefield Portugal, “The international partnership between Ocean Network Express and Cushman & Wakefield allowed us to take on the project for the company's new office in Porto. Our priorities included integrating the company's identity and image into the space and meeting all the client's needs. We created a variety of solutions, from collaborative environments to private spaces, with the ultimate goal of creating a personalized work environment that met the expectations of Ocean Network Express Portugal.”
Mário Jacob, Associate and Head of Porto at Cushman & Wakefield, considers that “It was a very challenging and motivating operation, in which it was necessary to identify a prime office that would respond to the demanding quality requirements of Ocean Network Express, from a perspective of optimizing space, without compromising existing workflows and implementing the latest workspace strategy trends. With this operation, the Burgo Torre building reached 100% occupancy, which demonstrates the good dynamics that the Porto office market is experiencing, especially in the search for quality spaces.”
