The building is currently used as the headquarters of the European Parliament and the European Commission in the Portuguese capital.
Cushman & Wakefield announces that, in co-exclusive partnership with Worx Real Estate Consultants, the only major consultancy firm with 100% national capital and an alliance member of BNP Paribas Real Estate, has been mandated by Sonagi to lease approximately 4,000 sq.m in Jean Monnet Building 1, located near Avenida da Liberdade in Lisbon.
The property consists of 12 floors dedicated to offices and services, and, as previously mentioned, it is close to one of Lisbon’s main arteries, Avenida da Liberdade, ensuring proximity to luxury retail, hotels, services, headquarters of major companies, and public transportation. Currently, the building serves as the headquarters for the European Parliament and the European Commission in the Portuguese capital and is undergoing extensive renovation following Sonagi’s purchase of over 70% of the building. The renovation aims to adapt it to new work trends and sustainability standards, with the owner targeting a BREEAM Gold certification.
According to Afonso Almeida Fernandes, Senior Consultant at Cushman & Wakefield: “These offices represent an excellent opportunity for companies looking to establish their presence on one of Lisbon’s main avenues. There are few spaces of this size and quality in such a sought-after area as Avenida da Liberdade.”
Jorge Telles de Carvalho, Consultant at Worx Real Estate Consultants, adds: “We believe this is one of the most iconic assets currently available in the Prime Central Business District (CBD). The ongoing rehabilitation will make it a benchmark product for companies seeking a combination of quality facilities and prestigious location.”
