Downtown and central business districts are once again thriving. Opinions vary over the exact level of pre COVID-19 CBD occupancy, broadly ranging from 65% to 90%. Using the lower end of this range, Brisbane CBD is now back to pre-pandemic occupancy levels and Sydney is over 75% of pre-pandemic CBD occupancy. Workers are returning to bustling offices, businesses and shops are open, many popular restaurants are full, and the arts and entertainment sectors are coming back to life, all without the boost of international tourism.
