ABOUT ŁÓDŹ

Łódź is located in central Poland and, at the same time, in the centre of Europe. It is a region with rich industrial traditions, mainly in the textile and clothing industry. With its strategic location at the junction of A1 and A2 motorways, Łódź is a dynamically developing BSS centre and is the third largest city in Poland in terms of population.

Thanks to the implementation of a long-term development strategy for 2006-2016 prepared by McKinsey & Company in cooperation with the city authorities, this former textile industry centre has transformed into one of the fastest growing BPO and IT service hubs.

Successful start and a dynamic development of the BSS sector thanks to companies such as Infosys, Fujitsu Siemens and South Western Solutions encouraged other international investors to locate their service centres to Łódź.

The BSS services sector is also developing thanks to the University of Łódź, which is the first university in Poland to offer postgraduate studies in the management of service centres. The city offers access to qualified employees and still relatively low labour costs.
