The Novum Presov Shopping Centre

07/09/2020

The construction of a shopping and entertainment centre, expected to bring more than 500 new jobs to the region, is in the final stage. The investor and developer, GEMO Holding announced that it will open on 8 October and will be called Novum.

Novum stands in the very centre of the city at the intersection of Hlavná - Bishop Gojdič - Štefánikova - Okružná streets in a place that have long been used for trade and meetings. Therefore, Novum also has the ambition to become the new heart of Šariš, which will not only offer residents from all over the region quality shopping and space for leisure time with the family, but also significantly complete the urban structure of the city and bring new life to the city centre.

The centre will include the latest Lidl supermarket concept, a modern Cinemax multiplex cinema with 8 cinemas, the largest children's play area in Prešov with an area of almost 1000 sq m, a generous food-court with a capacity of 400 seats, complemented by 2 restaurants. Additionally a number of cafes, including external terraces, McDonald's restaurant and Pilsner Urquell pub, modern FitUp fitness, GP clinics and other services will be incorporated. Well-known brands such as H&M, New Yorker, Sinsay, Medicine, Orsay, Douglas, A3 Sport, Humanic, CCC, Martinus, Datart, Intersport, dm drogerie markt, Pepco, Kvety Victor and many others are expected.

Novum will also mean the first representation in eastern Slovakia for Starbucks and Mango, which will open its only operation in the region in this centre.

In an area of 33,000 sq m, Novum will provide Prešov residents with comfortable shopping and a wide range of services right in the city centre. 500 underground parking spaces will and the proximity of public transport will make it easily accessible for shoppers.

"During the entire process of leasing the centre, emphasis was placed on the choice of outlets, their combination and the location of established, as well as new, brands. The goal was to offer the customer, in addition to an excellent location, a clear choice when deciding where to go," says Ján Kotrbáček, International Partner and head of the CEE retail team at Cushman & Wakefiled, which is leasing the centre's retail space.
