Robert Brian Mitchell joined Cushman & Wakefield as an Associate Director in 2022. Over the past 25 years, he has worked with Mr. Brian O’Connor of the O’Connor Consulting Group, one of the most prestigious multi-family market study firms in the Pacific Northwest Region. As a Senior Market Analyst, his assignments have included complex appraisal problems, the valuation of fractional interests, eminent domain, air and water rights, and historic preservation easements. His expertise includes mixed-use and multi-family but is largely oriented towards the commercial sector including self-storage, office, retail, industrial, and special purpose properties.
In all, Mr. Mitchell has been engaged in the consultation, valuation and analyses related to commercial real estate for the past 37 years including a short stint at the Dwelling Company, a Mercer Island based real estate development firm. His primary responsibilities included site and property analysis, develop property pro-formas, rent studies, cost analysis, product recommendation, due diligence and preparing investment packages for board members and potential equity investors.
He began his real estate career as a Fee Appraiser with Conger, Rees & Clarke in 1985, a local commercial real estate appraisal firm located in Bellevue, WA. After the break-up of CRC, he joined the Consultation & Advisory division of Coldwell Banker (now known as CBRE) in Seattle where he performed a wide array of consulting and commercial appraisal assignments throughout the western region of the United States. Mr. Mitchell specialized in portfolio analysis performing complex feasibility and investment analysis for multiple types of commercial properties using ARGUS and PROJECT for pension funds, life insurance companies, REITs and major corporations.
Mr. Mitchells primary focus is consultation with owners, tenants, landlords, individuals and other clients regarding building repositioning, land-use analysis, tax and just compensation appeals, litigation consulting, highest and best use analysis and asset repositioning.
