More than 35 years’ experience as a counselor in real estate valuation, review, analysis, eminent domain, investing, purchase and sale, and litigation support. Christina embarked on her career as a valuation professional in late 1986 when she began working in Atlanta while going to school at night at Georgia State University earning a degree in Real Estate. She earned her SR/WA, Senior Right of Way Associate designation from the International Right of Way Association. Christina is the immediate past chair of the IR/WA International Valuation Committee. She is also a Designated Member of the Appraisal Institute having earned the MAI, SRA, and AI-GRS. Christina has recently been conferred membership in the Counselors of Real Estate, holds the credential CRE, and is a designated member of the American Society of Appraisers.
Christina is the founder of Real Counsel, LLC an appraisal services company which she built and ran from 1986 to 2024. In the 1990s, she served on a Georgia County Board of Assessors for five years and was certified by the Georgia Department of Revenue. Between 2002 and 2013, Christina operated also in the real estate brokerage industry as an agent, a real estate broker, and a broker owner. From 2007 to 2013, she co-owned two real estate brokerage firms in the Chattanooga Metropolitan Area. She also worked directly with the Tennessee Department of Transportation from 2013 to 2016. Her valuation experience includes a variety of property types, and her appraisal, appraisal review, and litigation support practice has focused primarily on eminent domain since 1991.
Christina has a passion for education as both a student and instructor. She is an AQB-qualified USPAP instructor. She earned the CLIMB instructor certification from the IR/WA and completed the Certified Distance Education Instructor (CDEI) from the International Distance Education Certification Center (IDECC). She has learned and taught real estate in both collegiate and industry settings. With 3,000 plus hours of continuing education and over 1,000 hours as an instructor, Christina is a professional who seeks to continually expand her knowledge and support the next generation of real estate experts.
