Darian LeBlanc has managed Cushman & Wakefield’s Government Services Group since 2005, which specializes in representing building owners pursuing federal interests. In the industry, Darian brings over 20 years’ experience to the team, during which he has overseen federal real estate transactions nationwide valued at over $6.5 billion.
Federal and NIH Experience
Prior to joining Cushman & Wakefield and as a Federal Government contractor, Darian oversaw the development and day-to-day operations of an 18-person federal services group. In this capacity, Darian worked on behalf of many federal agencies providing a broad range of services, including strategic planning, portfolio assessment, financial planning, transaction management, design, and construction management, move coordination, property management and lease administration. As both a federal employee and contractor, Darian also worked for the National Institutes of Health (NIH), General Services Administration (GSA), and Office of the Comptroller of the Currency (OCC), and was recognized with several awards, including the GSA’s Excellence in Service Award (1998), the OCC’s Superior Rating (1999-2000) and the NIH’s Best Practices Award of Merit (2004 and 2005). Darian was the NIH’s chosen real estate representative from 1998-1999 and again from 2002-2005. Based on the NIH campus in Bethesda, MD, he supervised a staff of 8 brokers, analysts and project managers and functionally oversaw their entire real estate program, leasing approximately 3 million square feet of laboratory, clinical, and office spaces on their behalf.

Darian is annually recognized by several organizations, including the Commercial Real Estate Brokerage Association of Greater Washington, DC (CREBA), the National Association of Industrial and Office Properties (NAIOP), and the Washington Business Journal (WBJ) as a Top Broker in the National Capital Region. He is a multi-year winner of CREBA’s Best Lease Transactions in Washington, DC, Maryland, and Virginia, as well as a multi-year winner of WBJ’s award for Best Lease Transaction in both the Urban Office and Suburban Office categories. Darian has been a Top 10 CREBA Leasing Broker every year since 2008 and was the Top (#1) Federal Broker in the Washington, DC Region in 2008, 2009, 2010, 2011, 2015, and 2017. In 2018, Darian was the recipient of the James L. Eichberg Broker of the Year Award. Darian has received numerous NAIOP awards for Best Real Estate Transaction and was named one of the top 40 business leaders in Washington, DC under the age of 40 (“Top 40 Under 40” Award) by the Washington Business Journal. In 2020 and 2022, Commercial Observer named Darian one of Washington, DC’s 25 most Powerful Real Estate Players.
