David W. Bernhaut is an Executive Vice Chairman of the Metropolitan Area Capital Markets Group located in Cushman & Wakefield’s East Rutherford, New Jersey office. He has been with the Capital Markets Group for 31 years. He is responsible for real estate investment service activities including the marketing of corporate and investment property in the suburban New York Metropolitan area.
David has been involved in more than $34.2 billion of property sales, including $18.1 billion of office transactions, $2.8 billion of retail sales, over $4.5 billion of industrial property sales and $3.0 billion of multi-family property. David and his team have also completed 41 million square feet of corporate dispositions totaling over $5.4 billion nationwide for clients such as Novartis, FMC, Merrill Lynch, AT&T, Bank of America, Alcatel-Lucent, Verizon, Hess and Unilever.
Notable recent sale transactions include the $650.3 million sale-leaseback of Verizon Wireless’ operational headquarters in Basking Ridge; the sale of Alfieri’s Morristown Office Portfolio totaling 407,404 square feet for $80,000,000 and the Sudler Piscataway Industrial Portfolio totaling 1,014,270 square feet for $109,510,000 to three separate purchasers. David has also executed over 1 million square feet and over $100 million of Westchester office sales in the last two years.
Mr. Bernhaut has consistently ranked among the top five brokers in New Jersey (1994 through 2018) and in the top ten for the Capital Markets Group nationwide.
