Gretchen relocated to Fort Myers, FL in November 2005 from Monmouth County, New Jersey with her husband Joe and daughter, Gretchen explored different fields of real estate and worked on Sanibel Island as an office manager for a vacation rental company while operating a cleaning service with cleaning crews caring for rentals on Sanibel and Fort Myers Beach. Expanding into post construction cleaning for new residential and commercial properties during the boom from 2006 and 2007 throughout Florida with over 25 full and part time employees. While real estate sales slowed, profited on performing residential broker price opinions from 2008 to 2010, completing over 6,000 BPO’s during that period. During the real estate recovery period, selling distressed and foreclosed properties in Lee and Collier Counties was very busy and a rewarding time.

Prior to joining CPSWFL, Gretchen was successful in closing over $5 million in residential real estate sales since 2006.  Most recent accomplishment includes a Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac property evaluation specialist, repairs and contracts coordinator for a residential sales office. She has worked with many foreign investors building their income portfolios and manages their rental portfolios for over 25 investors. Gretchen has vast knowledge of the real estate market both residential and commercial.

Gretchen Smith joined the team in May, 2015. Gretchen has held an active real estate Broker’s license since 2014 and licensed for over 10 years.

Gretchen’s current position with CPSWFL as a research analyst and writing articles for the Market Beat Quarterly reports for C&W, Broker’s Opinion of Value for both sale and lease properties, and working with the team of agents in winning listing assignments and executing commercial leases. She is passionate about commercial real estate, is a fast learner and driven to action.  Gretchen has adapted easily to the high performance culture of the office environment, demonstrated ability to identify and troubleshoot critical issues and consistently delivers above standard results.

While enjoying learning commercial real estate and actively engaging in leasing office and retail spaces, Gretchen on her free time likes to read, bicycling, pickle ball, exploring Florida and the outdoors, and spending time with her husband and friends.
