Josh N. Kuriloff is a 30-year veteran of the commercial real estate industry and one of the highest-ranking brokerage professionals at Cushman & Wakefield.
Mr. Kuriloff is Executive Vice Chairman and member of C&W’s Global Advisory Board. In 1998, 2009, 2014, 2017, 2018 and 2021 he earned the distinction of being recognized as C&W’s top brokerage professional worldwide. In 2015, Mr. Kuriloff was ranked #1 in Real Estate Forum’s Top U.S. Brokerage Professionals feature.
Mr. Kuriloff’s clients include the most recognized names in global business and revered organizations in the New York metropolitan area. A partial list of his clients includes: Beacon Capital, Brookfield, Cleary Gottlieb, Columbia Property Trust, Disney, Greater New York Hospital Association, Harvard Business School Publishing, Hines, Ivanhoe Cambridge, Met Life, McKool Smith, Metropolitan Transportation Authority, Mt. Sinai Hospital, Pfizer Inc., Revlon Inc., TPG, Verizon, Vornado, Willis Group Holdings and United Hospital Fund.
Mr. Kuriloff represented Willis Group Holdings, the global insurance broker, in its lease of Chicago’s Sears Tower renamed “Willis Tower.” Willis Tower is the tallest building in the western hemisphere and houses the Willis Midwest regional headquarters.
Mr. Kuriloff also represents several of the New York area’s most prominent landlords, including: Hines at 1211 Avenue of the Americas, Beacon Capital and Met Life at 575 5th Avenue, Vornado Realty Trust, 1290 Sixth Avenue, Taconic at Essex Crossing and Brookfield’s new master planned development of 7.2 million sf called Manhattan West.
This year, Mr. Kuriloff represented Pfizer Inc. in their global headquarters for an 825,000 sq ft lease as the anchor tenant in the new Tishman Speyer development in Hudson Yards. In addition, he was part of the team in disposing of their owned headquarters for $380 million.
One of Mr. Kuriloff’s notable assignments involved the extension of the Fox/News Corp lease for 1,200,000 sq ft at 1211 6th Avenue. The complexity and scale of the transaction earned Mr. Kuriloff the distinction of receiving C&W’s coveted Deal of the Year Award. Mr. Kuriloff led a team in the $650 million sales leaseback of Verizon’s headquarters in Basking Ridge, New Jersey. The transaction was the largest sale leaseback in the state of New Jersey. Recently, he also completed a Verizon 400,000 sq ft anchor tenant lease at the Hub in Boston which includes three sides of rooftop branding.
In any given year, Mr. Kuriloff is involved in some of the largest and most complex projects and transactions in New York. Mr. Kuriloff represented NYU Langone Medical Center in a renewal and expansion at 1 Park Avenue of 420,000 square feet. Mr. Kuriloff represented Mt. Sinai on the consolidation of their executive and administrative offices into a 450,000 sf new headquarters at 150 East 42nd. The transaction allowed for a complex 30-year leasehold acquisition which allows Mt. Sinai to be exempt from real estate taxes.
Mr. Kuriloff is dedicated to civic and charitable activities. He is a member of the Village of Sands Point Zoning Board and Dean’s Board of Advisors for the George Washington University School of Business. Most notably, he is a Trustee for the United Hospital Fund, which paid tribute to him as Honoree for his service to New York’s health care community. In addition, he was an Honoree for St. Mary Hospital in Bayside, NY. Mr. Kuriloff is a graduate of George Washington University.
