Proven Results at 28 State
Level Up: Elevated Asset Performance & Workplace Wellness
01 The Opportunity
Heitman, a global real estate investment management firm, hired Cushman & Wakefield to provide property management services to 28 State Street, which Heitman owns on behalf of an affiliate of the firm, and improve overall building performance to achieve both ENERGY STAR® or LEED® certifications. Improving 28 State Street’s operational and environmental efficiency is in line with Heitman’s commitment to environmental, social and governance excellence, and the real estate investment manager’s goals for efficient property operations and high tenant satisfaction.
02 The Solution
To achieve certifications, Cushman & Wakefield's Energy & Sustainability Services team provided guidance and consultation, completed an ASHRAE Energy Audit and benchmarked sustainability KPIs. By the beginning of 2020, 28 State Street was both ENERGY STAR® and LEED® v4.1 Gold Certified.
03 The Results
With heightened awareness around health, safety and government-mandated operational changes as a result of COVID-19, real estate owners and investors are focused on managing operating expenses and promoting a safe return to work. Cushman & Wakefield’s Level Up Energy & Sustainability Services initiative helps owners take asset performance and workplace wellness to the next level with actionable solutions that protect against rising energy costs and create healthy work environments.
