The Adelaide commercial property market led the country during the early stages of the pandemic and momentum has continued, with an unprecedented amount of local, national and offshore capital perusing the South Australian market for investments.
On the back of this, Cushman & Wakefield has identified South Australia as a key growth market and is capitalising on this movement, by appointing Jed Harley, Hamish Crouch and Jay Nash for its new commercial real estate division.
Jed Harley and Hamish Crouch both join from JLL where Jed will spearhead the Investment Sales business, bringing with him over 12 years of experience in the local market; most recently being the dominant agent in this space.
Hamish and Jay Nash (previously from Colliers) bring over 20 years of combined experience and will drive Cushman & Wakefield’ industrial business and capitalise on the enormous growth in this asset class.
According to Simon Fenn, Managing Director CRE ANZ at Cushman & Wakefield, “The Australian business has strategically sought to hire a boutique team of industry leading commercial agents, as we actively grow our local presence.
Mr Fenn went on to say that Commercial Sales, Industrial & Logistics are a key focus for our clients nationally so a strong presence to service the South Australia market is imperative.
Cushman & Wakefield’s current Adelaide business includes facilities management, project development services and trade services.
In Q4 2021, the Cushman & Wakefield Capital Markets business completed a record-breaking office transaction in Adelaide on behalf of Charter Hall with the sale of 25 Nile Street, Port Adelaide to Centuria.
Jed Harley said “Adelaide had always offered an attractive value proposition for national and international investors relative to our eastern capital cities but it’s outperformance during the pandemic and the fact it now has some genuine economic drivers has solidified its tenure.
“Adelaide is now considered a mature and alternative decision to Sydney and Melbourne and is forecast to have another record year of major transactions as borders open up and more new capital enters the market from interstate and Asia.
“I am excited to be joining the global powerhouse that is Cushman & Wakefield and am eager to see what our new team achieves this year.”
