Cushman & Wakefield Australia has demonstrated its commitment to veteran employment by making The Pledge with Soldier On as a Gold Pledge Partner.

Solder On is a not-for-profit veteran support organisation whose mission is to assist veterans and their families to thrive.

Cushman & Wakefield works with the Department of Defence’s Security and Estate Group where it has been contracted to provide National Program Services (NPS) since 2014. The NPS team works with Defence’s contracted Project Delivery Service and Estate Maintenance Operation Services partners to manage and deliver maintenance, refurbishment and sustainment projects on the Defence estate to support the Australian Defence Force and Defence public servants.

Mr Mitch Wilson is Cushman & Wakefield’s Head of Project and Development Services Australia and New Zealand. He attended the pledge signing event that was held at the National Arboretum in the nation’s capital with Soldier On’s Interim CEO, Ms Prue Slaughter.

“Cushman & Wakefield is pleased to take The Pledge and become a Gold Pledge Partner with Soldier On. Our people have worked with Defence for many years now and see the value that serving members and their families make to the nation every day—and that service doesn’t end when the uniform comes off, it simply transforms,” Mr Wilson said.

“We employ a number of veterans and partners of serving members across the business, and so we know from experience the skill, insight, and dedication that they bring to the company and we look forward to engaging more ex-service people to draw on their skills and expertise to deliver for our clients,” Mr Wilson said.

Soldier On Interim CEO, Prue Slaughter said the organisation was delighted to have the support of Cushman & Wakefield. “As Soldier On continues to grow, we are able to expand our services such as The Pathways Program to enable more veterans and their families to thrive, by providing more opportunities of education and employment. By signing The Pledge, Cushman & Wakefield is not only committing to support veterans throughout the recruitment stage, but to also maintain a veteran supportive approach to its workplace in all aspects of retention, culture, and opportunities within its teams,” Ms Slaughter said.

In addition to taking The Pledge, Cushman & Wakefield launched its Military and Veterans Program (MVP) more than a year ago. The MVP is an internal support group for the company’s veterans, reservists and military partner team members.
