The high-profile duo has been appointed Co-Heads of Investment Sales, NSW, and brings with them more than four decades of combined experience, deep client networks, and an enviable track record of deal-making in the country’s most active investment precincts.
Their arrival follows a breakout year for Cushman & Wakefield’s Investment Sales division in Victoria, where the firm settled more than $1.3 billion in transaction volume, reinforcing its credentials as a serious player in the private, institutional, development, and mid-market sales landscape.
In 2024, Cushman & Wakefield’s Investment Sales team closed 135 transactions nationally, totaling $2.3B, saw 300% sales growth, and has already sold 23 properties worth over $220M year-to-date.
“With Miron and Matt on board, we now have the firepower to deliver a truly national investment sales platform,” said Noral Wild, CEO of Cushman & Wakefield ANZ. They are two of the most respected agents in the market, and their appointment reinforces our ambition to be the leading Investment Sales team in the country.”
Mr Solomons is regarded as one of the country’s most decorated commercial agents. A serial Real Estate Institute of NSW Commercial Agent of the Year, he has consistently held the state record for the highest commercial auction price for nearly a decade. His previous role saw him leading Auction Strategy nationally, with a focus on Sydney’s commercial and insolvency markets.
Mr. Pontey brings nearly two decades of experience and proven success across Sydney’s Eastern Suburbs and City Fringe—some of the most competitive markets in the city. His appointment signals a return to a leadership role in the metro sector, where he’s highly regarded for his strategic marketing and decisive deal execution.
In the past year alone, the duo has achieved over $500 million in property sales across the Eastern Suburbs, underscoring their strength in this tightly held market.
"Cushman & Wakefield has demonstrated a clear commitment to building the most formidable Investment Sales platform in the country,” Mr Solomons said. Joining a team that is setting a new benchmark for performance and client service is an exciting step.”
Mr Pontey added: “We’re incredibly energised by the opportunity to lead the next phase of growth in NSW. This is about raising the bar and delivering standout outcomes for our clients.”
The appointments are part of a broader national strategy, said Luke Etherington, Cushman & Wakefield’s Head of Investment Sales, Australia, who believes the firm is now equipped to scale its recent success across every major market.
“Our $2.3 billion in sales last year was just the beginning, and this momentum has already continued in 2025, with a fast start having transacted circa $200m in deals year-to-date. With Matt and Miron at the helm in NSW, we are delivering the strongest national investment sales capability in the country” he said.
