Warsaw will turn off lights for the Earth – Cushman & Wakefield joins the action

25/03/2022

The annual Earth Hour event, an action initiated by the WWF in 2007, will take place on Saturday, 26 March 2022. Through the symbolic turning off of lights in the world’s largest cities it aims to raise awareness of risks to the natural environment. Global real estate services firm Cushman & Wakefield will join the initiative and switch off lights in its head office and 17 buildings under its management.

This year’s Earth Hour falls on 26 March 2022 – on that day at 8:30 p.m. many cities, people and institutions will turn off lights in a symbolic gesture of caring about the environment and our planet. The event, held under the Honorary Patronage of the Mayor of the Capital City of Warsaw, will take place in Poland for the 15th time.

"At Cushman & Wakefield we believe that by working together and joining forces we can achieve great results in any area – not only in business, but also in sustainability and the natural environment. We always join the Earth Hour as sustainable growth is one of our company’s priorities. With this symbolic gesture we express our support for climate action for our planet,” says Grzegorz Dyląg, Head of Asset Services Business Space, Asset Services EMEA, Cushman & Wakefield.

Hundreds of millions of people from over 7,000 towns and cities in 170 countries across the globe, including Poland, take part in the Earth Hour. Previous years saw close to 100 Polish cities join the initiative and lights go out in such buildings as the Place of Culture and Science, the National Opera, the Sky Tower in Wrocław, the Teutonic Castle, the Ministry of Environment, and the Chancellery of the President of the Republic of Poland. The participants of this year’s event will include the headquarters of Cushman & Wakefield – the Warsaw HUB, as well as such Warsaw buildings as Atrium Garden, Atrium 1, Złote Tarasy, Galeria Klif, Sienna Center and Wspólna 47/49.
