The event, titled “Linked to Clients,” was hosted at the Cushman & Wakefield’s El Segundo office and attended by more than 40 professionals from various public and private firms in the commercial real estate industry.
Linked to Clients was presented by LinkedIn staffers Zander Van Gogh, Creative Strategy Manager, and Hubert Smith III, Relationship Manager. The presenters critiqued attendee profiles, giving pointers to boost views and engagement. Furthermore, Mr. Van Gogh and Mr. Smith displayed useful features, techniques to engage clients, paid features of LinkedIn that can generate leads, and insight on the historical growth plus future use of LinkedIn.
According to many in attendance, the event successfully exceeded expectations with value-add information and a professional environment that cultivates fruitful relationships.
John W. Stinson, IT Technician at Cushman & Wakefield noted, “The presentation was so informative and opened my eyes to the power of LinkedIn that I updated my profile that night. I also called a few friends to tell them about the features they showed us during the presentation.”
In addition to members from AAREP, whose mission is to advance the economic livelihood of African American commercial real estate professionals and enlighten the community through outreach and mentorship, representatives from BUILD were in attendance and brought awareness to Cushman & Wakefield’s efforts to promote diversity and inclusion.
Michael Tidwell, Director in Valuation & Advisory at Cushman & Wakefield, is involved with both AAREP LA as an executive board member and BUILD and helped organize the event.
“Cushman & Wakefield is an industry leader in workplace diversity, therefore the collaboration with AAREP LA was very natural. Furthermore, the design and character of the El Segundo office pose as the ideal location. Everyone who attended felt comfortable in the office, were impressed by the presentation, and enjoyed the delicious food – the event was a huge success,” said Mr. Tidwell.
