Project developers recently announced that the 25-story, state-of-the-art building will add cutting-edge technology to employ touchless enhancements from the entry door and throughout the property to reduce traditional touch points to create a safer and healthier workplace experience for tenants and visitors.
The project is being developed by City Creek Reserve, Inc. and the builder is Okland Construction. The architect is the acclaimed Skidmore Owings & Merrill, Inc., one of the largest and most influential architecture, interior design, engineering, and urban planning firms in the world. Expected to be completed in late 2021, 95 State at City Creek is also designed to be Utah’s first WELL Building and designed to achieve LEED Gold and Wired Platinum Certifications.
95 State at City Creek will be a game-changing workplace, implementing high-tech safety features such as a destination elevator system that can transport employees directly to their desired floor location without the need to press any buttons. The building will also be fully secure with touchless turnstiles that will guide visitors one-way toward security kiosks where they will digitally sign in, never having to touch anyone during the process. Common areas such as the restroom cores will also be largely touchless including the entry doorways.
The fifth floor will also have a unique outdoor garden terrace with 7,000 square feet of landscaping creating a pocket park in the sky. The terrace provides tenants and guests with a tranquil location and is large enough to host special events or serve as an outdoor meeting space for tenants. The fifth floor will also be a place for tenant(s) to reserve a conference rooms for small-to-large groups.
Other design elements include a grand 28-foot lobby entrance featuring a large video wall, floor-to-ceiling exterior glass, minimal columns, curved glass corners, and advantageous core depths to enhance efficient use of space. A fitness facility is also located on the fifth floor with full lockers and showers.
A significant amenity for 95 State is The Link, a renovated and expanded underground pedestrian tunnel connecting directly to City Creek, Salt Lake’s world-class, mixed-use urban core offering upscale shopping and dining destinations and ready access to downtown arts, entertainment and professional sports venues.
Cushman & Wakefield’s Mike Richmond, Executive Managing Director and Dana Baird, Executive Managing Director have been hired to perform Project Leasing Services.
“95 State at City Creek looks to become Utah’s most iconic new office development, and we are honored to be the leasing representatives for this premier asset and more so to assist in bringing workers safely and more efficiently back into their offices,” said Dana Baird. “This is an impressive development from top to bottom and inside and out that will change Salt Lake City’s skyline and deliver a futuristic, high-tech location wholly focused on tenant health, experience, culture and retention.”
Mike Richmond added, “Many employers are offering more flexible work options to attract top talent, and 95 State has achieved a great balance to meet the modern tastes of today’s Millennial and Baby Boomer workforce. Together with a best-in-class work environment, the project’s central location at City Creek connects employees with easily walkable shopping, dining, entertainment and more—it has a high 95 walkability rating. The location is also easily bikeable and close to public transit and major freeways.”
Downtown Salt Lake City is also just 10 minutes from the newly renovated Salt Lake City International Airport—which recently opened a new concourse as part of its $4.1 billion phased expansion scheduled to be fully completed by 2024—and within 30 minutes to world-renowned skiing locations.
