Based in the firm’s downtown Oakland office, English will oversee Cushman & Wakefield’s East Bay operations in Oakland, Walnut Creek, Pleasanton, and Stockton. As Managing Principal, her primary role will be providing overall leadership and direction of the firm’s East Bay territories while maximizing opportunities for business development and quality client service.
English brings more than 20 years of experience in commercial real estate services to her leadership position and becomes one of the first women at any commercial real estate firm to serve in a market-leading role in the San Francisco Bay Area region.
Dan Broderick, Cushman & Wakefield’s President of the West Region said, “We are ecstatic to have Cori join our leadership team in one of the most important commercial real estate markets for Cushman & Wakefield. Cori is a proven leader and her reputation and experience are unparalleled—she is highly admired and respected by our most sophisticated clients. Furthermore, Cori exemplifies our core values as she is actively involved in the community through her philanthropic endeavors and involvement in industry organizations such as NAIOP."
“Our goal is to place the best talent in leading roles at Cushman & Wakefield in order to lead our team as well as clients,” said Matt Chatham, Cushman & Wakefield’s Managing Principal for the Northern California region. “Cori is a dynamic and accomplished professional who over decades has built strong relationships with clients and colleagues. Her tremendous experience, insights and leadership together with a well-rounded background across many areas including landlord representation, asset management and talent recruitment are valuable assets for the firm and will be instrumental in championing the growth and success of our East Bay business.”
Chatham added, “We believe Cori brings a unique perspective that will result in better solutions and increased value for our clients. As a market leader, she will also have an influential impact in our industry and as a role model for other professional women.”
English has specialized in commercial real estate in the San Francisco Bay Area her entire 20-year career. The majority of her employment was spent at CBRE where she worked for 13 years over two separate periods—the latest between 2010 to 2018. While at CBRE, she represented more than 5.2 million square feet of Class A office space in the Greater San Francisco Bay Area for several major clients. She was also involved in the repositioning of several prominent assets.
Her most recent career work was serving as a Director with RETS Associates, while earlier in her career English held roles at Maguire Properties and Trammell Crow Company.
Cori English expressed, “I am thrilled at this opportunity to serve as a market leader at Cushman & Wakefield, and to join this phenomenal team. In our highly competitive and ever-evolving industry, qualified talent is essential to the success of a company as well as its clients, and Cushman & Wakefield is composed of exceptional talent across the firm. The East Bay is a critical and transformative market, and I look forward to driving our progress here and in the other areas that we do business.”
