New Jersey – Cushman & Wakefield announced today that the real estate services firm has hired a best-in-class industrial brokerage team led by industry veterans Mindy Lissner and Bill Waxman, who will both serve as Vice Chairs. Based out of the firm’s East Rutherford and Iselin offices, Lissner and Waxman will be joined by David Gheriani, Christine Eberle, Chris Griffith and Michelle Merkel. The team will focus primarily on industrial leasing in New Jersey and will partner with the firm’s Capital Markets team on investment sales.

Lissner has more than 30 years of experience in industrial brokerage, specializing in industrial property acquisition and disposition services, strategic planning and implementing of network optimization studies and market evaluation and analysis, as well as global portfolio oversight. Serving as a trusted advisor and subject matter expert, Lissner’s areas of expertise include the sale and leasing of warehouse/distribution facilities, manufacturing, food grade, NNN leased sale/leasebacks, industrial investment sales and land site development. Lissner has been recognized as a Woman of Influence by GlobeSt. and Real Estate-NJ. Over the course of her career, she has successfully completed transactions valued with total consideration in excess of $10 billion and she remains a top producer in New Jersey. She is a member of the Society of Industrial and Office Realtors and received her Bachelor of Arts from the University of Delaware.
Waxman is a 40-year industry veteran who is known for his ability to analyze difficult challenges for his clients and provide quantifiable creative solutions. An authority on corporate, industrial, ecommerce and supply chain real estate, Waxman advises companies of all sizes, from Fortune 50 to startups. Often referred to as the leader in ports and integrated logistics, Waxman works on projects not only locally and throughout New Jersey, but across the Tri-State area as well as nationally and around the world. He has received a myriad of industry recognitions, including SIOR’s Deal of the Year and ROI-NJ’s New Jersey Influencer award in 2020. Waxman is a member of the Society of Industrial and Office Realtors and NAIOP and received his Bachelor of Arts in English Education from State University of New York at Brockport.
Gheriani joins the firm as an Executive Director with 15 years of commercial real estate experience. He provides occupier and investor representation services to clients throughout central and northern New Jersey, specializing primarily in the sale and leasing of industrial properties along the New Jersey Turnpike Corridor. Gheriani’s extensive background in landlord and tenant representation with a niche for food and cold storage facilities affords him the ability to understand client needs more robustly, which has resulted in strong client relationships and a multitude of successful transactions.
Eberle, who joins Cushman & Wakefield as a Managing Director, has 18 years of commercial real estate experience on the landlord, investor and service sides of the business. Her vast experience in leasing and asset management gives her the perspective to provide unique and comprehensive advisory to owners, developers and occupiers. Eberle received an honorable discharge from the NJ Army National Guard and attended Rutgers Business School’s Business Management Program in Newark.
Griffith joins the firm as a Senior Associate where he will represent both occupiers and investors in northern and central New Jersey. Over the course of his career, Griffith has been responsible for tracking prospective clients’ local and regional activity and conducting extensive industry and property research for business development pursuits, as well as performing market surveys, lease reviews and summaries and financial analyses. Griffith received a degree in Finance from the University of Central Florida.
Merkel joins the firm as a Brokerage Specialist where she will play an important role in supporting the team and its initiatives.
The team joins Cushman & Wakefield from CBRE. In 2020, the team completed 205 transactions, accounting for both sales and leases, valued in excess of $1.6 billion across the globe. Over the past eight years, the team has completed more than 61 million square feet of transactions. The team has been awarded NAIOP’s prestigious Industrial Deal of the Year award three times over the past several years.
