Project Osmosis

11/18/2022

Project-Osmosis-2We’re excited to introduce you to the Project Osmosis + Cushman & Wakefield Design Thinking Challenge. The mission of Project Osmosis is to create programs that identify, develop, and support young people from minority communities with demonstrated abilities and skills in the applied arts.  From May to November 2022, our Design Thinking Challenge engaged a diverse group of young Chicagoans and clients in multiple countries in developing a new vision for workplace.

Their innovation is shown in the resulting work from the Design Thinking Challenge for Cushman & Wakefield and its participating clients, IBM, Humana and Pepsico.

ENGAGING THE WHOLE PERSON

Inspiring workplaces promote both individual expression and collaborative work. To bring this to life, Project Osmosis imagined a new company hub that provides rich on-site amenities, social venues that encourage lively exchange, digital art galleries filled with changing expressions of creativity, and innovative spaces that spur company breakthroughs.

UNLEASHING CREATIVITY

To remain relevant in the future, businesses must be willing to reinvent themselves now. In this Design Thinking Challenge, Project Osmosis was asked to redefine the workplace to become a model of an inclusive, welcoming, and contemporary space. The reimagined office would provide creative stimulation, inspiration, and excitement by designating areas such as the Relaxation Zone, the Interactive Power Zone, and a state-of-the-art theater.

REENERGIZING THE EMPLOYEE EXPERIENCE

Companies are making it easier to collaborate and to socialize—two things our research shows employees care about. This Design Thinking Challenge envisioned ways to transform two floors of Cushman & Wakefield’s Chicago headquarters, helping create exciting new ways for employees to connect, collaborate, and build a workplace culture that is inclusive and welcoming.

REIMAGINING WELLNESS AND WORK-LIFE BALANCE

Project Osmosis was asked to reimagine the ideal workplace journey for employees as they return to the office. Considering everything from the time employees get up and head to work, to the completion of their day, the team developed ways for an enhanced environment to promote productivity and personal wellness.
