Cushman & Wakefield Appoints Dave Sansom as Next Managing Principal of Nashville, Doug Brandon to Transition to Executive Advisory Role

11/7/2023

NASHVILLE, Tennessee, November 07, 2023 – Cushman & Wakefield announced today that the commercial real estate services firm has appointed Dave Sansom, Senior Managing Director and leader of the Property Management group in Nashville, to assume the role of Managing Principal of the firm’s Nashville office as of January 1, 2024.

As part of a strategic multi-year transition plan, Sansom will succeed Nashville’s current Managing Principal Doug Brandon who will shift to an Executive Director advisory role within the firm’s brokerage business and focus on overseeing relationships with several large clients. Sansom and Brandon will work closely to ensure a smooth transition and build on the firm’s growth in Nashville. Additionally, Senior Managing Director of Property Management, Terri-Lynn Mitchell, will support Dave and the Nashville Property Management platform during this transition period. A successor for Dave’s former role will be named and onboarded in 2024.

“We have strategically and thoughtfully developed a transition plan in Nashville over the last two years and are excited to bring it to fruition. Our Nashville office is in great hands with Dave, and he will work with Doug through the initial transition. Doug will remain as a senior leader within the Nashville office and take on the very important role of leading key accounts which he has helped establish and build. Doug has strong relationships with these clients, and they are a significant portion of our regional business. This is a great scenario, which will also benefit the future of our local property management business and Nashville office,” said Roberta Liss, President of the Southeast Region at Cushman & Wakefield

“Doug has created a very dynamic and successful business for Cushman & Wakefield in Nashville and has brought it to where it is today. As he moves into a critical role and the business keeps growing, Dave is well-positioned to take the reigns and identify future opportunities that will make the Nashville market and our property management group stronger than ever,” noted Dan Pufunt, Executive Managing Director for Cushman & Wakefield’s Americas Property Management group.

Sansom joined Cushman & Wakefield in 2021 to lead property management efforts in Nashville. His group is responsible for the oversight of maximizing value for commercial real estate portfolios at all stages of the asset lifecycle, including ground-up development, stabilization and lease-up, renovation and repositioning, refinancing and eventual disposition. He currently oversees a team of 160 professionals, across a portfolio of 36 million square feet.

With over 15 years of experience working in commercial real estate, Sansom has partnered with a diverse range of clients across multiple international markets. Prior to being in Nashville, he was part of a JLL leadership team in Dallas charged with growing a market-leading property and asset management platform. He began his career with Knight Frank in Sydney, Australia, where he managed a diverse portfolio of office and industrial assets and was responsible for growing key client and tenant relationships.

“Nashville is one of the top growth markets in the Southeast for Cushman & Wakefield and we have an exciting future as a business here. Doug has cultivated a market-leading team across all service lines, and I’m honored to become the new Managing Principal. I’m also proud to grow our presence and ensure we continue to provide comprehensive and innovative solutions for our clients,” Sansom said.

“I have greatly enjoyed serving as Nashville’s Managing Principal and look forward to being part of Cushman & Wakefield’s future in my new advisory role. My transition to client-facing responsibilities was a personal decision, made possible by our long-term planning. I can’t think of anyone better than Dave to take over the Nashville business,” Brandon added.

Cushman & Wakefield’s Nashville office has grown more than 215 team members in the Middle Tennessee area and surrounding Southeast region, providing expertise in all sectors of the commercial real estate industry. Locally, the firm manages 39 million square feet of commercial property in 324 buildings throughout the area.
