Mr. Gastel, as a Senior Managing Director in the New York offices has enjoyed a diversified 40-year career at Cushman & Wakefield.  He currently manages both leasing and capital markets brokerage operations in the New York City and Long Island offices of the firm. During his former responsibilities as a leasing broker for the firm he represented several Fortune 500 companies on an exclusive basis including General Reinsurance Corporation, Honeywell Inc., Pitney Bowes Inc., Sunbeam Corporation and United States Aviation Underwriters, Inc. in numerous real estate acquisition and disposition transactions throughout the United States as well as Canada, Europe, Asia, South America and Australia. As one of the pioneers of Cushman & Wakefield’s Corporate Services Group he was instrumental in the development of a broad range of corporate account management systems and procedures.  In 1995, Mr. Gastel was presented with the Outstanding Corporate Services Professional Award at Cushman & Wakefield's National Achievement Conference.  In 1999 he received an award and was recognized as one of Cushman & Wakefield’s top performers in the salesperson category for the New York region.  

As a member of Cushman & Wakefield's Financial Services Group from 1988 through 1992, Mr. Gastel served as a Senior Financial Analyst and was directly involved in multiple investment sales of office, industrial, and retail properties in the tri-state area as well as other major markets throughout the United States. 

Mr. Gastel began his career with Cushman & Wakefield in 1984 as Assistant Finance and Administration Manager for the New York region operations.  In 1987, he assumed the position of Financial Operations Manager for the Citicorp Center / 399 Park Avenue commercial condominium, an exclusive C&W Asset Services Agency.  In this post, Mr. Gastel established an automated facility-maintenance accounting program for Citibank, N.A. 

Prior to joining Cushman & Wakefield, Mr. Gastel was a Senior Audit Manager for the New York Mercantile Exchange, where he assisted in the development of financial surveillance systems and procedures designed to monitor member firms.  He holds a degree in Accounting from Queens College of the City University of New York and is a licensed real estate salesperson in New York.
