OVERVIEW
The building exterior is a reflective, green tinted curtain wall. The distinctive main entrance to the National Bank Building, set back from the corner of York and Adelaide Streets, features a two storey open lobby. The floor is finished in polished and honed granite, with flamed granite walls. Two banks of high-speed solid state passenger elevators, four low-rise and four high-rise, serve the building's office tenants. The cabs feature floating ceilings, mirrored walls with stainless steel trim, and granite floors. The building also incoporates an advanced life safety system, including sprinklers, heat sensors, smoke venting, and voice communications to each floor. This building is Phase II of Toronto Place which includes The Guardian Tower and and the Hilton Hotel. Aside from these buildings, the National Bank Tower is also connected to the underground pedestrian mall which incorporates all of the major office complexes and a wide variety of retailing and restaurant facilities. Union Station is also connected to this mall, and further public transportation is available at the nearby St. Andrew subway station. The immediate area also contains the new Toronto Stock Exchange, Osgoode Hall, and City Hall.
