Supporting WPP AUNZ's Return to Office
01 THE CHALLENGE
In March 2020, WPP responded to the threat of COVID-19 and closed all WPP AUNZ offices within Australia – all staff were advised to work from home. By April 2020, WPP AUNZ established a COVID-19 response team, which focused on preparing the organisation for a post COVID-19 recovery.
At the end of May 2020, WPP AUNZ began planning for the reopening of their three main offices in Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane. Cushman & Wakefield provided the framework to how WPP AUNZ will apply Recovery Readiness to their offices in Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane.

02 THE SOLUTION
Cushman & Wakefield supported WPP AUNZ with a 5 week program to understand how they can apply the Safe Six principles of the 6 Feet Office Concept. Cushman & Wakefield provided a framework including tailored guidelines on how to:
- Prepare the building
- Prepare the workforce
- Control the access
- Create a physical distancing plan
- Reduce touch points and increase cleaning
- Communicate for confidence
03 THE RESULT
Our team delivered a tailored framework for WPP AUNZ workplaces to a help achieve reduction in touchpoints, implementation of the Safe Six principles as well as complying to local government requirements in preparation for the commencement of a safe return to office transition.
Physical distancing applied in three offices resulting in a reduction of 49% of work points, and around 58% reduction in meeting room seats.
