COLOCATION DATA CENTRE ADVISORY: Confidential Global Banking And Financial Services Client
01 The Opportunity
Cushman & Wakefield were appointed in 2022 by a large European banking client to assess their current lease with an external colocation data centre in Singapore, which supported their 100kW trading set-up and disaster recovery strategies. The client wanted to gain an understanding of current market prices as they were being charged a y-o-y rental escalation.
02 The Solution
Cushman & Wakefield conducted due diligence on the client’s set-up and presented a comprehensive requirement analysis of all hosted devices that were cross-examined with the current arrangement with the existing provider. Cushman & Wakefield then worked with the client’s finance team on a pricing framework that was within their expectations.
03 The Result
The existing colocation operator accepted the revised pricing, which led to 33% cost-savings, optimisation in the power output, and reworking of commercials.
