Gary Williams is a Vice Chair with Cushman & Wakefield’s Valuation & Advisory group, based out of Toronto. He specializes in the valuation of both institutional and investment grade assets across Canada and brings over 25 years of experience. Gary’s valuation experience includes assignments with many Canadian and international real estate investors. He has completed valuation and advisory assignments on various investment and redevelopment properties in every province of the country. His primary fields of expertise include valuation and financial due diligence consultation specializing in office, industrial, retail, multi residential and land in Ontario and across the country. Over the past 20 years, Gary has valued the majority of the Class A and B office buildings in the Downtown Toronto West, East, and Mid Town nodes, for both REITS and Investors.
Gary has worked on a wide variety of valuation and consulting assignments including asset specific and portfolio properties. Atypical assignments include financial workout of one of the largest vehicle manufacturers in 2008, due diligence of distressed loan portfolios, and underwriting of entire GE Canada portfolio. In addition to valuing more than $50 billion dollars’ worth of investment and corporate assets, he has completed feasibility and market studies on behalf of major pension funds, investors, and developers. He has also been involved with litigation and estate related assignments on behalf of financial institutions and private investors. Gary’s hands-on transactional experience and high-level strategic responsibilities has given him national exposure to a wide variety of assignments.
Prior to joining Cushman & Wakefield, Gary was a Portfolio Manager with CIBC Development Corporation and a Principal at Campbell Valuation Partners Real Estate. While with CIBC Development Corporation, he managed a national portfolio of corporate assets that included valuation and divestiture of surplus assets. Such responsibilities included working on loan restructuring and work-out of various portfolios for the special loans and asset realization divisions of the bank. He was also seconded with AMRESCO Canada LLP to assist with various single asset valuations and portfolios across the country.
