The Crown Estate, established by an Act of Parliament, is a unique business with a diverse portfolio that stretches across the country. The Crown Estate works to create social, environmental and financial value, both now and for the future, for its customers, partners and the nation, returning 100% of its net revenue profit to the Treasury for the benefit of the nation.
With a London portfolio spanning 10 million square feet, The Crown Estate is one of the West End’s largest property owners with a diverse customer base. Comprising of Regent Street and around half of St James’s, its offer extends across the workplace, retail, dining, leisure, and residential sectors.
Cushman & Wakefield will provide retail leasing advice across the London portfolio along with two other appointed advisors.
Leanne Catterall, Customer Partnership Director for London and Regional at The Crown Estate, said: “To ensure that we stay relevant in this exciting, evolving retail market we need to be engaging with compelling brands from the outset, thinking about the personality of our spaces, the neighbouring uses and the whole feel of the destination. This is the time to help our spaces evolve and become resilient – for communities, for businesses, for visitors, and for everyone who spends time here, and key to this is making our spaces more vibrant, with a mix of thrilling things to see and do.
“This new appointment of agencies will work closely with us to support in achieving all these things, along with creating a more unified destination across Regent Street and St James’s, bringing an array of different expertise and a wider reach to a more diverse range of brands and experiences. Supporting our portfolio to flourish into this next exciting chapter for London as a globally significant destination.”

This appointment also reinforces Cushman & Wakefield’s leading advisor status in the Central London retail market, with the firm also active on Battersea Power Station, Shaftesbury’s retail portfolio across Carnaby, Seven Dials and Soho, as well as high profile instructions on Oxford Street, Bond Street and Bruton Street.
