Gingell will lead the team alongside existing team head Maud Visschedijk
London, 23 September 2024 - Real estate services firm Cushman & Wakefield has promoted David Gingell to Co-Head of its EMEA Equity, Debt & Structured Finance (ED&SF) team.
Gingell takes on joint leadership, alongside existing team head Maud Visschedijk, of the EMEA-wide team, providing capital solutions to investors. Visschedijk has led the first phase of growth of the Debt & Structured Finance business, building an international and diverse team working across Europe.
Cushman & Wakefield’s ED&SF team works with the leading players in European real estate including recent transactions with Blackstone, Greystar and Tishman Speyer, trusted to act on many of the most significant deals in Europe this year. Deals of size are also returning, with Cushman & Wakefield sourcing a €440 million acquisition loan from six lenders for a Brussels office portfolio with the express purpose of repositioning and repurposing.
Maud Visschedijk, Co-Head of Equity, Debt & Structured Finance EMEA at Cushman & Wakefield, said: “David and I have complementary skills and together we bring greater diversity of ideas and skills to the table. We have enjoyed phenomenal success in recent years, to which David has been instrumental since joining, and I look forward to building on that together as we enter this next phase of growth as a team.”
Cushman & Wakefield is in regular dialogue with more than 250 lenders to understand their current risk and lending appetite, including increasing definition around Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) requirements – a key factor in the Brussels deal – to provide the best advice and capital solutions to clients. By focusing on quality of service and collaborating closely with in-country teams across the firm’s regional platform, its EMEA ED&SF team has built a strong reputation and repeat business delivering sophisticated and high-probability capital solutions in a changing market.
David Gingell, Co-Head of Equity, Debt & Structured Finance EMEA at Cushman & Wakefield, said: “What a way to celebrate what is my second anniversary with Cushman & Wakefield. I have greatly enjoyed our experiences so far, driving together with a high-performing team, and was thrilled when asked to expand my leadership role as Co-Head. The fact we are a truly pan-European team within a global company – rather than in name only – is a differentiator that adds meaningful value to our clients.”
Gingell joined Cushman & Wakefield in 2022 from PGIM Real Estate where he was Head of European Senior Debt, having co-founded the European arm of the US commercial real estate lender.
