L'Aljub Shopping Centre, owned by DWS, one of the world's leading asset managers, and managed by Cushman & Wakefield, has become the first Spanish shopping centre to achieve the Q for Tourism Quality certificate. A Spanish brand of recognised prestige awarded by the ICTE, the Spanish Institute for Tourism Quality. With this good news, the shopping centre encompasses three quality certifications: the ISO 9001, the Co-responsible Company certificate and the Q for Tourism Quality, in addition to the BREEAM® environmental sustainability certificate, already obtained since 2014.
Germán López, general manager of the L'Aljub Shopping Centre, stated that "it is a source of pride for the entire L'Aljub team to achieve this achievement. The achievement of the Q Certificate for Tourist Quality means that the shopping centre has a differentiating and pioneering seal at a tourist level in the retail sector. He added that "this seal recognises and commits us to the fulfilment of commitments to continuous improvement in the areas of safety, customer service, tourism, quality, sustainability and energy efficiency. For this reason, we will continue working, offering our visitors and users the best services and technological improvements".
One of the key elements in obtaining this certificate was the 'Origen' solidarity project. An initiative that was born under the protection of the 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) of the UN and which is linked to the efficient use of resources and the protection of the natural and cultural environment. It has been launched to give visibility to local solidarity projects and contribute to the economic and sustainable development of Alicante.
It is also worth highlighting its 'Destination Oasis' positioning, a new emotional concept that positions L'Aljub as a destination of experiences and enjoyment for the whole family. Lucía González, Marketing Manager of the L'Aljub Shopping Centre, pointed out that "visiting our shopping centre is like going to a Shopping Resort. We no longer have customers, we have guests who come to enjoy the commercial offer, the numerous services and the quality of our facilities".
The L'Aljub Shopping Centre also offers a variety of free technological services through the L'Aljub Oasis Club as part of its Infinity project. Thanks to the contactless or "do not touch" system, you can have access to lockers, breastfeeding rooms, free shoe-shine, wipes dispensers, surgical masks, and hygiene or beauty kits in the bathrooms. It is currently the shopping centre in the province of Alicante that offers the most free services.
Without forgetting the accessibility of L'Aljub for all the citizenship, with actions such as the creation of 'The hour of silence' to help people with autism, giving visibility and solutions such as transparent masks or providing subtitles and translations to sign language in many of its videos to make communication easier for deaf people.
